Severe thunderstorms sweep across state Tuesday evening as high heat continues. Remnants of Tropical Storm Elsa expected to arrive later in week.

A heat advisory will be in effect for most of the state from 1 p.m. Tuesday to 7 p.m. Wednesday as highs during the day rise to 94 to 99 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
