When a young girl came forward about her own sexual assault after the murder of an 11-year-old who was raped and strangled days later, she helped Hartford police catch a serial predator and murderer in the early 1950s. She was denied a $3,000 reward, but that may change after the house unanimously passed a bill Wednesday honoring her bravery and demanding the financial compensation she was entitled to nearly 70 years ago.
