Gov. Ned Lamont urged anyone who went to work today to head home as the first major nor’easter of the year bears down on Connecticut. Snow starting falling overnight, coating roads and forcing schools to close or staff to teach remotely. Up to 16 inches is expected in much of the state over two days, with much of it expected to fall Monday afternoon and evening. Wind gusts of up to 55 mph are expected to kick in, knocking trees and branches into electrical wires and causing power outages.
