Southington resident Kristyn Formeister started a Facebook group a couple of weeks ago, inviting friends to "adopt" a couple of families struggling this holiday season by sending toys or clothes to them. It has exploded into a group of 500 that so far has provided gifts to more than 200 youngsters from more than 100 families across the state - from Greenwich to Willimantic.
