Vernon dedicates park for native son Gene Pitney, ‘Rockville’s rocket’

Gene Pitney, a 2002 inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, was born in Hartford and raised in Rockville, where he began his musical career writing songs and performing. A park was named in his honor in Vernon Oct. 20.
